One Room Challenge (Fall 2021): Week 6, Details & Progress

I can't believe we are at Week 6 of the One Room Challenge and are are officially only 2 weeks away from the Final Reveal! And believe me when I say that a lot has been going on behind the scenes. Over the last week it's been a mix of planning for painting touchups, unpacking boxes, prepping for the new railing, replacing furnishings that arrived damaged (yikes), and sourcing everything from art to decor to accessories to complete the bedroom, office, and hallway.

Bedroom:

The bedroom was painted (with touchups pending) and I am in love with the color. The walls are Evergreen Fog SW 9130 and the ceiling is a darker color, Rosemary SW 6187, both by Sherwin Williams. This is inline with my Feminine & Cavernous design concept that I discussed in Week 2 where I wanted a layered color palette of earth tones to create a soothing and restful environment (see moodboard below).

And, thankfully, my new bed was delivered last Friday and I have been in heavenly, sleeping, bliss ever since. The bed is the Santorini from Saatva with their lineal adjustable base and their Loom & Leaf mattress. I'm going to wait until the Final Reveal to show you the bed in the space but I wanted to share more info about the lineal adjustable base which I'm now obsessed with, literally. It's adjustable allowing you to sit up, put your feet up, or both; has under bed lighting which I never knew I needed; AND has a massage feature. And it's the massage feature that is putting me to sleep within 10-15min every night, it's magical. Lastly, I love the convenience of being able to sit up in bed with the press of a button instead of having to maneuver 2-3 pillows to get comfortable. As far as the mattress, it's the Loom & Leaf Ultra-Premium Memory Foam Mattress in relaxed firm. Now mattresses are a very personal decision based on what's most comfortable for your body. I have had neck and back issues for the last 4-5 years so how I sleep and what I sleep on is extremely important, and this mattress fits me perfectly (note that the lineal adjustable base is amazing if you have back issues as well because you can find your most comfortable position). I was able to test the mattress out at their NYC location first and that's how I knew that I had found the one.

And here are the some terribly taken behind-the-scenes iPhone photos if you want to see how things are coming together. Making progress!:

Office:

Since I gave you an office update last week for Week 5, I will keep this short and sweet. I have a few boxes left to unpack, what feels like a thousand bags to open from purchases, and I still have to tackle the gallery wall. But here are a few BTS from my shopping adventures to two local stores, The Black Home and Source of Knowledge, both located in Newark, NJ. Sorry, you'll have to wait until the Final Reveal to see what I came home with!

Hallway:

I know I haven't shared much (or anything) about the hallway in previous posts and that's because I was trying to develop the bedroom and office first. This hallway connects the bedroom and office and I want it to play off of those two rooms. The below moodboard is what I have so far but its still a work in progress. Note that I'm not yet showing the new newel post, railing and banister from LJ Stairs that will also be added here. Stay tuned!
